RADFORD, Va. - Donna Kay "Katie" Vines, 50, of Radford, Va., formerly of Beckley, died Sunday September 21, 2003 at her home. Born September 30, 1952 at Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Donald Eugene and Lyda Grace Lilly Vines. Katie spent her childhood on Vine Street. She was a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and a graduate of Concord College with a BA Degree in Psychology. A resident of Radford for the past 26 years, she was formerly affiliated with HCMF and was currently a computer programmer for EchoStar. She held a great love for animals. Survivors include a brother, Donald Eugene Shannon of Charleston; her dearest lifelong friend, Patti Pientrantozzi Price and her family of Huntington; a special cousin, Ann Vines Basham of Cool Ridge; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. In keeping with Katie's wishes, she will be cremated. Services will be private. Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Beckley.
