Delores Ann Miller* (Griffith) - Class Of 1971

Surrounded by her family who always loved her, Delores Ann Miller Griffith, 50, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in a Charleston hospital following a long illness. Born Aug. 7, 1953, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Irene Calvert Miller. A lifelong resident of Sweeneysburg, Delores was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Class of 1971. She was formerly employed by the West Virginia Turnpike Authority and had attended Maynor Freewill Baptist Church. Delores will always be remembered for her "Free Spirit" and love of life. She held a deep affection for Marilyn Monroe. Her family loved and supported her through all of life's trials and she will be remembered as a beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and a sweet sister. Her brother, Larry, preceded her in death in 1973. Survivors include her husband of 20 years, David R. Griffith; a son, David Earl Ball and his wife, Christina, and their daughter, Whitney Nicole, and a grandson to be, Seth Davidson, who will be born in May, all of Midway; two sisters, Paula Bowling and her husband, Larry, of Surveyor and Jeanne Hatfield and her husband, Arthur Ray, of Sandbranch; five brothers, Lloyd Miller of Florida, Lonnie Miller and Dannie Miller and his wife, Debbie, all of Sweeneysburg, and Donnie and Mark Miller, both of Warren, Mich.; and a large extended family. Service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Forrest Gray officiating. Delores will be buried on the Miller family farm beside her parents at Sweeneysburg. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour before service Saturday at the funeral home. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
