James Edwin “Eddie” Boyd, 55, of Beckley, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009. Born July 22, 1954, he is the son of Thelma Williams Boyd and the late Forrest Vernon Boyd. He is the grandson of the late Orville and Della Williams of Beckley and the late Henry and Ella Boyd of Virginia. Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, music and rescuing animals. He was an environmentalist and a humanitarian. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and attended Beckley College. Eddie was proud to be employed as a coal miner and was of the Protestant faith. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Anne Kay Boyd of Beckley; mother, Thelma Boyd of Beckley; and his brother, Forrest L. “Randy” Boyd and wife JoAnn of Beaver. It was Eddie’s wishes to be cremated and a private memorial service will be held at a later date with Pastor Billy Calhoun officiating.
