Ricky Alan Workman* - Class Of 1980

Ricky Alan Workman, age 49, of Maple Fork, W.Va., died Thursday June 11, 2009, at the Charleston Area Medical Center Memorial Division following a long illness. Born on April 17, 1960, in Beckley, he was the son of Cledith Taylor Workman of Maple Fork, and the late Billy Joe Workman. Ricky was a kind-hearted loving individual to all who knew him. We will miss your smile and your laugh. He would want us to thank all those who have prayed for him. We would like to remember his special aunt, Sister Sandra Taylor and Ewing Creek Church, Pettry Bottom Church, and his Doctor’s at CAMC, Dr. Richmond, and Dr. Maxwell. We love you Ricky. Special thanks also to Roger and Delores Davis, and Terrie and Joe Thompson. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Joe and Wanda Workman and by maternal grandparents, Edgar and Ella Taylor. Surviving other than his mother, are daughter, Samantha Marie Workman of Princeton; two brothers, Billy Ray Workman and wife Charlotte of Cirtsville, W.Va., Johnny Workman and wife Connie of Maple Fork; three sisters, Connie Sue Workman of Maple Fork, Brenda Workman and fiance David Mays of Beckley, Teresa Prunest and husband Brian of Maple Fork, his former wife, Veda Workman of Princeton; 12 nieces and nephews; two great nieces, two great nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Ewing Creek Church at Clear Creek, with Reverend Sandra Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Taylor Family Cemetery at Clear Creek. Friends may call at the church two hours prior to services. Pallbearers will be Roger Davis, Joe Thompson, Brian Prunest, Rickie Mobley, Holbert Powers, and Johnny Workman.
