Loletia “Letha” M. Bayne* (Morris)

Loletia “Letha” M. Bayne Morris, 52, of Beckley, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, due to an unexpected illness. A precious saint of our Lord Jesus Christ who went to be with him. Loletia was born April 2, 1957, in Beckley. The daughter of Chauncey Bayne and the late Roberta A. Pannell Bayne. Mrs. Morris was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and West Virginia State College. Letha enjoyed talking to family, friends and anyone she came in contact about the Bible. She loved writing poems. Her work was published in the National Library of Poems. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Kelly and Florida Pannell; Robert and Cora Bayne; mother, Roberta Bayne; two brothers, Chauncey (Dewey) Bayne Jr. and Jeffrey (Jeff) Logwood. Survivors include six sisters, Germaine Bayne of Beckley, Coretta Penn of Dayton, Ohio, Danita Bayne (E.J. fiancé) of Dayton, Ohio, Stephanie (Kelvin) Smith of Beckley, Cheryl (Jim) Donovan of Liberty, Ky., Monica Bayne of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Donald (Robin) Oakley of Maybeury, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Andrea Logwood of Beckley. Letha also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Services will be 12 noon on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Second Baptist Church, 700 “F” St., Beckley, with the Rev. Rudolph Poindexter officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. All family members are asked to meet at Durgan Funeral Services at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010, for departure to the church.
