ASHEVILLE, N.C. — David Wayne Spence, 55, of Asheville, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 20, 2010. He was born November 9, 1955, in Mabscott, W.Va.; he was the son of Virginia P. Davis Spence of Beckley, and the late Jessie C. Spence. Mr. Spence was a construction worker and of the Baptist faith. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Virginia P. Davis Spence; one son, Joseph C. Spence of Sandlick; two brothers, Calvin Spence of Beckley, Thomas Spence of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; two sisters, Margarett Jones and husband Bill of Felton, Del., and Darlene Rickard of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. David was loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Rev. Orville Setliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
