Ronald “R.B.” Lee Bowling, 56, a lifelong resident of Raleigh County, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, October 14, 2010, while surrounded by his family. He was born June 10, 1954, in Beckley, WV. He was the third of three boys, a member of Memorial Baptist Church and a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He was the father of four blessed children, an amazing friend to many, and loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him. R.B. never met a stranger and charmed his way into so many lives. He greeted every day with a smile and lived every minute to its fullest. For twenty years he was a devoted employee of John Eye’s Big Sandy Superstore and prior to that he was self-employed. He was preceded in death by a loving mother, Marie French Bowling, a hardworking father, Joseph Bowling, and one of his dearest friends, his brother, Randall Bowling. R.B. is survived by his companion and love, Tina Allen of Prosperity; three daughters, Traci Lee Ann Bowling of Oak Hill, Kassia Marie Lilly and husband Owen Lilly of Cool Ridge, Jennifer Bowling of Daniels, and his son and best friend, Ronald Lee Bowling II and fiancée Misty Windsor of Beckley; two grandchildren, Grace Ann Lilly and Joseph Donavan Bowling; the mother of his children, Barbara Ann Bowling of Ghent; a brother, Richard Bowling and wife Sandy of Nimitz, sister-in-law, Gayle Bowling of Ghent; and a host of extended family and friends. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 17, 2010, at the Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel with Rev. Orville Setliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may gather with the family from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at the Funeral Home. Pallbearers include lifelong friends, Mark Andrews of Beckley, Herbie Crouch of Beckley, Pat Crouch of Beckley, Terry Ferrell of Oak Hill, Max Holt of Fayetteville, and Eddie Martin of Sandstone.
