Gary Leo Barnabi, 61, of Beckley, was called home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 11, 2016, in Greensboro, N.C.

Born October 29, 1954, in Beckley, he was the son of Rose Albert Barnabi of Beckley and the late Leo Barnabi.

Gary was the founder and operator of Grimefighters for over 25 years, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and a talented and innovative artist whose work was featured in national automotive magazines.

In addition to his father, Leo Barnabi, Gary is preceded in death by his younger brother, Mark Anthony “Tony” Barnabi, paternal grandparents, Patsy and India Barnabi and maternal grandparents, Essie and Ruby Albert.

Other than his mother, Rose Barnabi, Gary is survived by his three children, Shane Barnabi, Jeremy Barnabi and Jessica Ferrill. Four grandchildren, a brother, Brian Barnabi, of Beckley, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gary will be greatly missed and continuously loved by his family and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cranberry Baptist Church, 201 Cranberry Drive, Beckley, on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 3 p.m., with Pastor Roger Pauley officiating. Friends and family may gather at the church from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday.
