James Kendell Moore* - Class Of 1970

MOUNT HOPE — James “Kendall” Moore II, age 62, of Mount Hope, formerly of Beckley, passed away at St Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., on Monday, November 3, 2015 following a sudden illness.

Born on December 17, 1952 in Beckley, he was the son of the late June Shaffer Moore and James Kendall Moore. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Pamela Moore; his sister Jennifer Hamrick and her husband Gary of Beckley; his nephew Timothy Hamrick of Beckley; his niece Bethany Kirby and her husband Todd of Beckley; his uncle Jerry Shaffer and his wife Maxine of Beckley; as well as cousins and many friends.

Kendall was a 1970 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School. He attended WV Institute of Technology where he was a member of the Golden Bear marching band and the Sigma Pi fraternity. He has lived in both Georgia and West Virginia and worked in the construction trade. He had a passion for music, playing keyboard in local bands as a young adult.

A memorial service will be held at Melton Mortuary on Friday, November 6, 2015 at 11 a.m. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service. 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations of sympathy be made in his memory to the Raleigh County Humane Society, PO Box 115, Beckley WV 25802.
