Walter Scott Warden, age 48, known affectionately as Scott, passed away at his home on Monday, August 24, 2015.

He was born on July 24, 1967 to Lloyd and Patsy J. Warden in Beckley. He was the youngest of six children. He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Bruce Warden and his nephew, Brandon Lloyd Warden.

Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Patsy J. Warden of Beckley, his sisters Debra Warden Nichol of Beckley, Robin Warden of Richmond, Va., and her partner Melissa Miller, Mary Warden Mullins of Roanoke, Va., and her husband Bo, his brothers Patrick Warden of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Bruce Warden of Edgewood, Ky., and his wife Lori. He is also survived by two very special nieces, Madison Warden of Ridgecrest, Calif., and Brooke Warden of Edgewood, Ky. Last, but not least, his special and loving dog, Gabriel.

Scott moved back to the Beckley area after the death of his father to take care of his mother. The last five years he was devoted to her care and well being. Those that knew him well knew that he had a loving and caring heart and he will be so greatly missed by them all.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 28, at 12 noon at the Melton Mortuary Chapel. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 27 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Humane Society of Raleigh County in Scott’s name because he loved animals.
