Frank Basile*

BONAIRE, Ga. — Frank Basile, 64, formerly of Beckley, died Monday, Aug. 13, 2007, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, Ga., following a long illness. Born at Philadelphia, Pa., on Feb. 10, 1943, he was the son of Margaret Onori Basile of Beckley, and the late Giacomo Basile. Mr. Basile was a 1961 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, and a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology in 1966. Mr. Basile was a former teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School, Beckley, and a former employee of the Raleigh County Health Department. He was a former personnel director at Raleigh General Hospital, a former assistant administrator at the University Hospital in Tamarac, Fla. He was also a former administrator at the Summers County Hospital in Hinton, a former administrator of a hospital in Trenton, Mo. He was a former prison system Health Administrator in Nashville, Tenn. He retired in June 2006 as a Health Administrator for the Wilcox and Dooley, Georgia State Prisons. Mr. Basile was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Warner Robbins, Ga. Survivors include his wife, Karlyn Warden Basile; a son, Frank C. Basile and wife, Joetta, of Lindside, W.Va.; daughter, Kara Tipton and husband, Randy, of Huntsville, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Patrick and Cole Basile and Kyla Tipton. A Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis deSales Catholic Church in Beckley, with the Rev. Father Chapin Engler as the celebrant. A Rite of Committal will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Friends may call at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home in Beckley from 6 to 9 p.m. today, where a Christian prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. by the Rev. Mr. Don Wise.
