Nancy C. Bowling*

Nancy C. Bowling, age 69, of Beckley, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness. Born on Oct. 16, 1939, at Crab Orchard, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Emory Clyde Bowling and Bertha Blevins Bowling. Nancy was an office manager for National Realty Company and was a former teacher at Woodrow Wilson High School. She was a graduate of Concord College and was a member of the Wesleyan Chapel in Beckley. She was preceded in death by sisters, Glenna Huffman and Louise Bowling; and a nephew, Rick Raines. Survivors include her sisters, Patty Leighton of Roanoke, Va., and Paulette Riley of Beckley; nieces and nephews, Vicki Raines Wills and husband, Lloyd, of Blue Ridge, Va., Barbara Huffman Dawes and husband, Mark, of Beckley, Henry James Riley and wife, Nikki, of Beckley and Robert Riley of Beckley; and a great-niece, Ashlie Dawes of Beckley. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Pastor John Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
