Eunice Claire Haddad, 82, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of Beckley, passed away Sept. 23, 2006, at home. Born Jan. 23, 1924, at Charleston, she was the daughter of Joseph and Amelia Haddad of Beckley. She was a retired schoolteacher for Raleigh County Schools where she taught business education at Woodrow Wilson High School and at Sophia High School for over 30 years. She received an M.A. in business education from Marshall University. She was a member of the United Methodist Temple of Beckley and enjoyed bridge, tennis and cooking. Survivors include one sister, Loretta Castro of Las Vegas, NV; three nephews, Jim Castro of Las Vegas, NV, John Castro of New York, NY, and David Haddad of Ormond Beach, FL; and one grandniece, Melissa Haddad of Ormond Beach, FL. Services will be 2:30 p.m. today, Oct. 2, 2006, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, 5251 Robert C. Byrd Drive, Beckley, with Rev. Darrell McNeely officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may gather with the family from 2 p.m. until time of the service today at the funeral home.
