Edith Agee* (Locke)

BECKLEY - Mrs. Edith Agee Locke of Beckley died Saturday at home after a long illness. Born in Appomattox, Va., she was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beckley. She was a schoolteacher at Beckley Junior High School, a graduate of Longwood College at Farmville, Va., a past-president of the civic department of the Beckley Womens Club, a member of the Eastern Star, the DAR, and the American Legion auxiliary, a past-president of Beckley Garden Club, and a member of the Beckley Environmental Improvement Committee. Surviving: husband, Judge Kermit A. Locke; sisters, Mrs. Estelle Marshall of Amerlia Courthouse, Va., Mrs. Colleen Rixey of Greenville, S.C.; brother, Hunter Douglas Agee of Winston-Salem, N.C. Service will be 1 p.m. tomorrow in Keyser-Bryant Funeral Home, Beckley, with the Rev. Kenneth L. Swank officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum.
