Cary W. McClure, 95, of Beckley, died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born Feb. 20, 1907, at Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Rubin and Anna Laura McDaniel Waid. Mrs. McClure was a graduate of Marshall University and taught in Raleigh County School system for 35 years. She was a musician in Raleigh County teaching both band and vocal and also helped several churches in Raleigh County with their choir and music programs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. McClure in 1984; four brothers and two sisters. She was the last surviving member of the Waid family. Survivors include three sons, Dan McClure and his wife, Peggy, of Flat Top Lake, Sam McClure and his wife, Barbara, of Martinsburg, and David McClure and his wife, Bonnie, of Morgantown; eight grandchildren, Carolyn McClure Turner and her husband, Chuck, Paul H. McClure II and his fiancé, Patti, Debi McClure Chag and her husband, Dr. Mark Chag, Randy McClure and his wife, Jerry Lynn, David Paul McClure and his wife, Saya, Dee Dee McClure, Dani McClure and Shelby McClure; and six great-grandchildren, Charles and Brooke Turner, Oliver and Graham Chag, Sidney and Alex McClure. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Paul Zutaut officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour before the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Wayne McClure, Paul H. McClure II, Carolyn McClure Turner, Randy McClure, Debi McClure Chag, Chuck Turner, David Paul McClure and John Waid. Honorary pallbearers will be Dee Dee McClure, Dani McClure and Shelby McClure.
