Albertine Harvey* (Meador,)

Albertine Harvey Meador, 83, of Beckley, died Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2000, in a local hospital following a short illness. Born Feb. 17, 1917, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Calvin and Rose Ceclia Malone Harvey. Mrs. Meador was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Marshall University and Bowling Green Commerce College in Bowling Green, Ky. She was a school teacher, having taught at Woodrow Wilson High School, Mark Twain High School and Sophia High School, and retired from Independence High School. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, Beckley, where she was also a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class and Hinchman Circle. She was a member of Bethlehem Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Beckley Woman's Club and the Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Harvey Meador; her husband, Basil Isaac Meador; a sister, Mildred Eloise Harvey Watts; and a brother, Oliver Wendell Harvey. Mrs. Meador was a lifelong resident of Beckley. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Albertine Meador of Beckley; a son, Andrew Calvin Meador and his wife, Karen, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and two grandchildren, Noah Andrew Meador and Grace Emily Meador, also of Murfreesboro. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Dr. David Carrico officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum B, Beckley. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jason Price and the men of First Baptist Church, Beckley.
