Thomas Buford Pugh*

Thomas Buford Pugh, 86, of Beaver, died of natural causes, Tuesday, August 2, 1994 at his home. Born April 24, 1908 at Dorfee, he was the son of the late Thomas Levi Pugh and Ada Rock Pugh Wolf. Mr. Pugh was a retired school teacher having taught in Raleigh County for 25 years at Shady Spring Junior High and Beckley Junior High. He worked as an agent in the U. S. Border Patrol in Texas for four years. He was a lifelong resident of Raleigh County, was of the Methodist faith and was a U. S. Marine Corps and Navy veteran of World War II where he retired as Lieutenant Commander. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Pugh. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Eva Parks Pugh; two sons, Thomas Pugh and his wife, Donna of Beaver and Patrick Pugh and his wife, Jo Ann of Follansbee; a daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Virginia) Owens of Irvine, KY; a half brother, Adrian Wolf of Mabscott; two step brothers, Edwin Wolf of Rockledge, Florida, and Howard Wolf of Shipman, Va.; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chalmer Abrams officiating. There will be no visitation. The body has been cremated. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Beaver United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, Beaver, WV 25813. Arrangements by Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley.
