Virginia Reardon* (Stemple)

SARASOTA, Fla. - Virginia Reardon Stemple, 74, died in Sarasotsa on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003. She was born in Hinton on March 9, 1929, the daughter of Robert L. Reardon and Carrie Graham Reardon. She was educated in Beckley public schools, received her B.A. degree at West Virginia Wesleyan College and her master's in education at West Virginia University. She taught speech, English and drama at Woodrow Wilson High School and was a member of the DAR, president of the Beckley Junior Woman's Club and a life time member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. She later taught in Arlington, Va., and then became a social worker in Garrett County, Md. She was an Episcopalian by faith. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, William; daughters, Jenilee Leininger of Castle Rock, Colo., and Carrinelle Humm of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and three granddaughters. No visitation is scheduled. Her body was donated to the University of Florida School of Medicine. Memorial service was Tuesday at the Church of the Nativity, Sarasota.
