After high school I went to Western Michigan and graduated in 1994. My first real job was with GM, where I stayed until 1997. I got bored there and thought a little travel may be fun, so I took a corporate engineering job and flew all over for 3 years. Tonya and I got married in 1999 and work travel wasn't as much fun anymore. So I went to work for a small automotive supplier in Troy. In 2004 I started a building/real estate company. Over the next couple of years I bought/rebuilt a few homes, and occasionally took on residential reconstruction jobs for others. In 2006 the Troy plant I was playing engineer at closed and I went into building full time.
