THE FOLLOWING WAS SUBMITTED BY THE PASTOR OF BELVEDERE BAPTIST CHURCH IN WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA IN LOVING MEMORY OF RONNIE BROOKER.

He was the pastor's close friend and prayer warrior. Ronnie knew how to get his prayers answered.

Ronnie served as  an usher on many Sundays.

He went with a small crew from our church to help some of the Pastor's families with recovering after Hurricane Katrina on the Miss. Gulf Coast and take supplies to other groups.

He was active on our Building and Grounds Committee. Ronnie often showed up for work day even when sick.

He carried his Bible every Sunday to church and read it and knew it.

Ronnie was always available for whatever the church needed him to do. No excuses.

Ronnie lived the Christian life by living a life of unconditional love for others, humility and an attitude of a servant. He brought friends to church whenever he was able, and more than one of the was led to the Lord and a profession of faith as a result.

Ronnie's presence is greatly missed by this pastor and members of Belvedere Baptist Church. There are other qualities that Ronnie had(such as spiritual discernment) but these are a few that stood out to me as his pastor and friend.

God Bless you and Ronnie's boys in Jesus Name,

Dr. Ray Henry

Ronnie was an athlete with a great spirit of sportsmanship, and an active member of the Belle Glade Junior Chamber of Commerce.  Early in 1973, in a celebrity charity benefit, the Jaycees played the Miami Dolphins in a basketball game.  The game was played in Belle Glade.  Ronnie was the high scorer, bringing the Jaycees closer to a victory.   Although the Dolphins won, Ronnie brought the Jaycees many exciting moments in that match.  The Belle Glade Herald featured a photo of Ronnie running down the court to score -  it was an exciting game!!

Ronnie Brooker, Sr. graduated from Belle Glade High School.  He also graduated from Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida.

Ronnie put himself through college by working parttime, and by using the G.I. Bill - Veteran's benefits he earned through his years of service in the United States Marines.

Ronnie's parttime work while he was in college included a teaching assistant position at "Little Santa Fe", the preschool program for children who had parents attending Santa Fe Community College.

Ronnie's sons: Bret, and Ron, Jr. were students in the preschool program at Little Santa Fe, so they were able to spend much quality time with their Father.  Ronnie accompanied the preschool on field trips and pool parties, as well as classroom assisting.

Ronnie was very much loved by the Teachers whom he assisted and more than one of them had Ronnie, Arlene, Ron, and Bret over to their homes, for barbecues, lakeside afternoons and family "get togethers"... and became his close friend in addition to teaching assistant.
