Sara Kathleen Smith, 19, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital at 11:45 a.m. on Wed., October 13, 1971 of Aplastic Anemia. She was born Nov. 2, 1951 in Orlando, FL and was living in Lake Worth, FL at the time of her death. Her survivors included her mother Pat Smith, father George Smith, sister Lisa,and brother Danny. She graduated from BGHS with the class of 1969 and was a student at PBJC. Kathy was a GREAT friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We have NEVER forgotten her or her wonderful smile and personality.

There are so many good memories of our high school years with Kathy. Spending the night at her house with Becky Blakely & Rebecca Mathis when her parents were gone, her little sister Lisa & my brother Kenny, (what pains they were to us), her brother Danny & his friends, her love of a certain Pahokee boy & her favorite song "Johnny Angel". And there was the time her dad brought home a car for her..a huge Ford Galaxy 500 convertible!! We laughed until we cried. I will never forget when she was in the hospital her last few days. She was her usual self..smiling & laughing about her situation. I don't think any of us ever thought those would be her last days. I have stayed close with her only surviving family member, her sister Lisa. I will always miss her & her friendship.
