I spent part of my adult life working in sales of paper and packaging products, but my last twenty years of employment was spent with the State of California, where I worked to help military veterans overcome employment barriers and find meaningful employment.

In 2005. I started studies for the ministry and in 2014 I was ordained as a Priest in the Old Catholic Church. I transferred to the Anglican Church in 2017 and serve as Assisting Priest at the Anglican Church of the Epiphany in La Mirada, CA. I also work with four groups of Veterans in Prison, inmates who are military veterans and are incarcerated at the California Institute for Men at Chino and the California Institute for Women at Corona. I retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the California State Military Reserve.

I remember Bill and many years of attending school classes together. While I was not really a member of his circle of his friends, I mourn his passing and offer the following prayer:

Oh God, our Creator who watches over us in both life and death:

You give us life and then welcome us into Your presence when our lives are over. Today, we thank you for Your gift of the life in the person of Bill Diehl who no longer dwells among us.

We are sad to hear of his passing, and humbly pray that he is now with You and with all Your saints, forever.

I am sorry to have just found out that Brian had a stroke last December and passed away on December 7th. I will always remember that wonderful summer that Jerry Smith and I spent with Brian at Lake Tahoe during the summer of 1959.

Brian was a life-long friend and I am grateful that my wife, Jeannie, and I had the opportunity to meet Brian's wife, Diana, and spend a few days with them at their home in Fort Bragg after our 50th Reunion.

I will definitely miss him at our 60th Reunion.
