Jack was a classmate of mine at Nary School back in the 50's.  A mutual friend, Carol Heinrichs Christianson, also attended Nary with us and graduated with us (1960), called yesterday December 9th to inform me that he had succumbed to his illnesses that he had suffered with for several years on December 8th. He had been in the service in Vietnam I've been told, but I don't know which branch. I remember him with a gleam in his eye and a liking for reading comic books when he was a kid.  Rest in peace, Jack.

I went to an antique aircraft show a few months ago and saw a beautifully restored Cessna 140.  I thought of Jack and his shiny metal skinned 140.  We couldn't fly together, as I recall, because we were both student pilots at the time.  I think we were several of the youngest students Waldo Wattles ever had.  We were about 16.  He loved airplanes and flying as much as I did.  Those were exciting times for a couple of  young aviation enthusiasts.  I'm sorry to hear the sad news of Jacks' passing.  RIP, Ernie
