Mary Jane Given (Baum)

Mary Jane Baum, 86, of Hamilton Square, passed away Thursday with her family by her side. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mary Jane was a graduate of St. Luke’s School of Nursing, Class of 1944. She began her nursing career at Somers Point Hospital, worked as a school nurse for the City of Trenton, an RN at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, and retired from her position as the school nurse at Wilson Elementary School in Hamilton Township. She was a long standing member of Advent Lutheran Church and a current member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. Mary Jane was an avid reader and enjoyed cross stitch, crafts and gardening. Daughter of the late Raymond and Emily Given, and wife of the late Harry J. Baum, Sr., she is survived by her daughter, Holly J. Baum; two sons, Harry J. Baum, Jr. and Randall R. Baum; two daughters-in-law, Beth Mallak and Heather Donahue; a sister, Patricia Berg; two brothers, Raymond Given, and Robert Given and his wife Nancy; two grandchildren, Amy Baum and Emily Mallak; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, including Jean Rieker and Betty Feehan; and her church family. The funeral service will be held 11:30 am Tuesday at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. Cremation will be private. Family and friends may call 5-8 pm Monday at the Saul Colonial Home.
