Jane P. Fuhrmann, age 95 years, of Fellowship Village, Basking Ridge, NJ, died Friday, April 6, 2018, at Fellowship Village where she had resided twenty-one years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, daughter of the late Neal Evans Pedrick and Helen Rawlings Pedrick, she had formerly resided in Flemington, NJ most of her life.

A graduate of Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, Pa., Jane was a registered nurse.

She was a former member, elder and deacon in the Flemington Presbyterian Church and later a member of the Liberty Corner Presbyterian Church; a former Girl Scout leader and nurse at the Gil Scout Roundup; was a member and Past President of the Flemington Woman’s Club; was Past Matron of Darcy Chapt. #138, Order of the Eastern Star of Flemington, NJ and was a Pioneer at Fellowship Village.

While Jane was at Fellowship Village, she visited people with her cat “Felix” and volunteered there. She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan following the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers. A member of the Audubon Society, she and her husband were avid birders who traveled the world to view all types of birds.

He husband, Dr. John B. Fuhrmann, died in 1993 and a daughter, Barbara Abbate, died in 1967.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Dwight Castro of New Wilmington, PA, and a grandson, Jonathan Castro of Cary, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 2 p.m. in Fellowship Village, 9000 Fellowship Road, Basking Ridge, NJ under the direction of Holcombe Fisher Funeral Home. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington. Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery will be private.
