Joseph P. Gallagher of Selma, N.C. died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at Wake Medical Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. He was 78. He was the husband of Catherine Breen Gallagher. The couple shared 58 years together. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Penndel for 38 years. Joseph was the son of the late Joseph A. and Naomi Hughes Gallagher; father of the late Joseph M. Gallagher and Laurie Ann Gallagher; and brother of the late Ronald B. Gallagher. Joseph was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served four years. He was employed for 15 years with M&S, a dedicated delivery service in Bensalem for GMC; and then Wonder Bread for nine years. In addition to his wife, Catherine, Joseph is survived by his devoted son, Michael A. Gallagher (Shelia) and grandson, David Lindsey; his sisters, Joan Anne Gallagher Gottsabend (Lou) and Pattie Gallagher; his sister-in-law, Loretta Gallagher; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 5:30 p.m. until the start of his funeral service at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at New Life Christian Church, 4 Freedom Dr., Newtown, PA 18940.
