Robert Hoover

Robert J. Hoover of Croydon passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in Einstein Hospital. He was 74.

Born in Philadelphia, Bob was a 32-year resident of Croydon, and was a very loving husband, father and grandfather

He was a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country for 10 years, and a retired HVAC technician.

Bob enjoyed building and riding motorcycles, along with camping and spending time with his wife. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, and was an avid musician.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence (Dengel) Hoover; and a brother George Hoover.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Mabel (Tillo) Hoover; his children, Margie Imhoff (Rob) of Tennessee, Donna Hoover of Chalfont, Robert Hoover Jr. (Tracy) of Croydon, Kelly Benner (Fred) of Southampton, Stephen Hoover (Barbara) of Croydon, April Neill (Bryan) of Croydon, Patricia Beese (Paul) of Newportville, and Thomas Carney (Michelle) of Croydon; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Richard Hoover (Kathryn), and sister, Florence Eckert (Bud); a sister-in-law, Malvina, and a sister, Annamae Springfield (Bill); and many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, and again from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at Molden Funeral Chapel,133 Otter St., Bristol, where his service will start at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown.
