Richard Clinton Spangle, 79, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was born January 9, 1941 in Berea, to the late Richard K. and Kathleen (McCrory) Spangle.

Richard served his Country in the U.S. Coast Guard on the USS Spencer and the USS Owasco. He retired as an aerospace engineer from NASA with over 40 years. Richard was an avid reader and enjoyed woodworking and silent films.

He is survived by his children, Colleen (Jerry) Wagner and Richard W. (Ida) Spangle; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his sisters, Pat (Bill) Scifres and Molly Spangle.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Frances F. Spangle in 2018.

A private graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Litchfield Cemetery.
