Below is an e-mails from his cousin, Diane.

Hi,

Curt and brother Walter both inherited the worst genes of the bloodline from our grandfather.

His mother started with diabetes as a young woman. As a  the very thick glasses as  young woman Dorthy had diabetes. When visiting them in Ohio as a little kid I remember she had thick glasses and was loosing her sight. Curt and Walter always had glasses when I saw them as a kid. By the time we were young adults with kids of our own. Was not too many years and Dorthy was gone.

The boys both inherited the worst of the genes passed down..Diabetes brings heart trouble, stroke,  loss of sight , kidney problems, a long list of difficulties.  Curt had diabetes,  been in and out of the hospital with heart issues  over the last few years. Had a pace maker and lived alone  Brother Walter, daibetic most of his life, had a stroke about 9 years ago,  has been in a nursing  home since his wife develoed  aplastic thyroid cancer.  She told me about it,  the day she was diagnosed,30 days later she  was gone.

Curt managed fairly well alone. His daughters helped him out.    At 3 one morning one of his daughters received a call. The paace maker was not resopnding. She  called 911. They responded to find him dead. Sad, very sad. We will miss him.
