Dave Merchak was my first best friend, at age five. He lived on 4th avenue with his older brother Bob, parents Jean and Andy, and I was around the corner at 446 Front St. in Berea. I remember him as a great kid, a loyal friend and a good, honest man.
I played army many a day with Dave Merchak. I would walk to his house from house on Pear st. Sometimes as a kid I played with him and Ian McGregor who lived around the corner from him. He was always a good friend to me.
