Married Ed in March 1977, moved out to southern Medina County. We have been rehabbing our 1831 farmhouse off and on through the years. There are times we think we are not the only ones living here, there is ALOT of "spirit" activity going on in this old house. We have Amish that live nearby. Every year we plant a big garden. I do alot of canning and freezing.

Through the years I had established a baking business in our home, averaging over 3000 cookies each Christmas, plus pastries for Christmas and Easter. This last year I took a break from Christmas orders. I make and sell pirogies in the spring.

My goal this year was to get back to painting on vintage saws, sewing grocery bags and aprons, getting ready to sell on Etsy. I am also trying a hand at woodworking.

Residing the house has taken TOP priority for this year. We are only doing 2 sides for now. Took it down to the original lathe and squared beams dating 1817 on a few boards.

Bethany and Jenna live in N.Y.C., Shaena just returned to Athens, O.U. , studying Applied Anthropology and PhotoJournalism. Bethany is the Executive Designer for Guess. Jenna just set up her website for illustrating, and hopes to change jobs soon. She is taking online courses in Herbology too.

A couple years ago I had the opportunity to mentor and cook for boys and girls from the Medina County Detention Facility and Horizons at a nearby Organic Dairy Farm.

Last summer I walked in the Cleveland Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day, my girlfriend and I got sidetracked and we walked 63 miles instead of 60. This last year Ed and I worked on a Crew Team for the Cleveland S.G.K. 3 Day. Up at 4:00 a.m. and one of the last in made for very long days. I think it was easier walking the 3 days. I am planning to walk again next summer for 3 Day 2010.

In Fall of 2008, after 8 years, I resigned my volunteer position of Faith In Action Co-ordinator. This is a fantastic program, helping senior citizens be independent, through volunteers coming to their homes to help with their needs.

Twice a month, I do Jail Ministry with two friends at the Medina County Jail,the last 5 years.

In June of 2006, I was struck by lightning. It has been quite an experience the last 3 years. My biggest challenge has been accepting all the after effects of the lightning strike. I have always had health issues, they are more intensified now. There seems to be new side effects from the lightning with each month...

When there is time for hobbies, I like painting... painting my own note cards to painting on vintage saws, painting scenes or pictures on wood/ furniture and glassware, fishing, hiking, canning, baking, crafts, blogging, birding...the list goes on..
