According to Ancestry, Mary died January 17, 1976 after an automobile accident. She did have an autopsy but it was found she was hit by a drunk driver. She died at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She had never married. She was looking forward to becoming a teacher. She was only 23 years young.

I saw Mary the day before she was killed. She was attending Ohio State University to get her teaching certificate. We talked for quite a while and went our separate ways. The next day, I learned that she had been killed by a drunk driver on the way home from work. It seemed so unfair because she was just beginning her life, but God had other plans for her.
