I offer my sympathy to family and friends of Tom Callahan. I was saddened to read of his passing in an email from this website. I have not had much contact with Tom since high school, other than through the occasional reunions.
I always liked Tom back in the Morton days. He was a smart, friendly guy with a good sense of wit. When I first met my wife (Diane Callahan Mastny, Morton West 1972) I wondered whether they might be cousins. They weren't, but their personalities were close enough to have caused me to speculate.
So sad to hear about the passing of Tom. What a great all around guy. Tom and I attended grammer school together at Emerson. He was by far, the smartest in our class. He was adorable and quick witted and an inspiration to all of us. My deepest sympathy to his family.
