Let's see... Where to begin...
I am an associate professor in the Film & Moving Image Department at Stevenson University in Stevenson, MD (Baltimore suburb). I began teaching at Stevenson (then Villa Julie College) full time in the fall of 2007.
I taught at Towson University in the Electronic Media and Film Department from 1999-2006.
I got my undergrad degree in film from Towson U (Towson State U when I was there) in 1997 and I worked numerous freelance jobs in the film/ video field for many years-- and still do when my schedule allows. I've edited shows that have aired on ESPN and Discovery as well as spots and independent films. I've also done a lot of work doing production sound and post-production sound design.
From 2003-2006 I taught at Towson U full time and went to grad school at American University full time. It was three years of hell but I survived and got my MFA in film from AU in May, 2006.
Then in June 2006 my back went out on me one too many times (ruptured/ herniated disc L5-S1 if that means anything to anyone) and I ended up having back surgery (lumbar laminectomy) in July 2006.
I taught at Villa Julie College for a semester and a half as an adjunct professor Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 and then the full time position became available and I applied and got the job.
Other than that I did lots of things from 1988-1997 before finishing my undergrad degree.
I got engaged at the Grand Canyon in 2010, married at The Cloisters in Baltimore in 2011, our son was born in 2013, and our daughter was born in 2015. Lots of changes over the past ten years or so...
