Since my fun days at BHS, I started my education at the University of Cincinnati and then Ohio State University earning a BFA, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Interior Design. I then moved to Washington, DC working at 2 architiectural firms, the last being Bucher Meyers and Associates where I established an in-house department of Interior Design . We specialized in commercial work ie. boutique hotels, law and doctor offices, buildings of all sorts, community centers, high-end residential homes and model homes. At that time, architectural firms rarely had their own interior designer on staff- so I had to convince the architects they needed me and that I would complete their package they offered their clients!
The unique vision of the architects and warmth touch of an interior designer-would allow more control of our projects and would make a winning team! There would be no stopping us!!! I got the job and had a ball with unlimited budgets...that I exceeded!
Then back to Columbus in the late 80's to be close to family, and was encouraged to be a real estate agent- I'd be a 'real natural'!
I learned so much in DC- my skills would naturally transfer to my new profession in Residential Home Sales.
My wonderful clients become extended family and I feel honored that they chose me to help them through this new chapter of their life!
I've bought and sold all types of properties and land and helped my clients invest in real estate to make them rich! Downtown condos to luxury homes in the suburbs and everything in between.
Fortunately, I met and married a terrific guy who grew up 6 blocks away from our home at 60 South Drexel Avenue...Chip Schaefer!
He is an expert in commercial property and casualty insurance with Huntington Bank Insurance. ( I had to date all those politicians in DC, and ended up marrying an insurance agent like my grandfather, my dad, and my uncle! Crazy!)
I've become a step mom for Chip's 3 children, Glamma for their children and grand doggies! I'm so blessed with the gift of a loving family!
Our claim to fame is my sis- in- law Laurel Lea Schaefer, Miss America 1971 graduate of BHS 1967. We love each other and have so many
cherished memories we've shared! So thrilled she found her Prince Chaming Sir Michael Bozoukoff and are happily married.
My passions in life are: My Chipperoony and our children and dogs, design, fashion, food, travel, the arts, ball room dancing, Broadway, exercise, flea markets, history of the world and all things inspirational and spiritual.
The days are getting shorter, yet there's still so many things to do!!!
