My sweetest memory of Larry was our senior trip to Washington and NYC. Larry and I were straggling behind our group, stopping to buy a slice of pizza on the way to the Staten Island Ferry. The ferry was leaving when we got to the pier. The harbormaster called the ferry and told them two of Mr. Gibbs' group were left behind. We finally managed to get on the ferry and enjoyed the ride around Staten Island. Mr. Gibbs was not a happy camper! Larry and I continued our education together at Lees-McRae College and often shared rides to and from school.
