BIG STONE GAP, Va. -- "Bert" Gilbert L. Dixon, 53, died Jan, 4, 2001, in Big Stone Gap.
He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Ford Fairlane Club. He was manager of Gate Petroleum, Big Stone Gap, and worked 27 years at Central Supply of Andover.
He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard and was a lifelong resident of the area.
Surviving are his mother, Pauline "Polly" Dixon of Big Stone Gap; sons: Terry Dixon, Charleston, S.C., and Chris Dixon of Big Stone Gap; daughters, Sherrie Meade of Richmond and Vickie and son-in-law, Matt Bishop of Kingsport; sister: Sharon Griffin of Big Stone Gap; seven grandchildren; and one niece.
Funeral services will be held Jan. 7, 2001, at 2 p.m. in Gilliam Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Duncan officiating.
Burial will be in Powell Valley Memorial Gardens, Big Stone Gap.
