As some of you may know, the Huffman High Alumni Association will be hosting our 1^st Annual Alumni Picnic on Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Patton Park. This is a family oriented event and all Huffman High Alumni are invited to participate. For those of you that are not aware and would like to participate, I have attached an order form that will allow you to reserve a 10x10 space and order alumni t-shirts we ask that you wear to the picnic.

Also, we have monthly meetings which are posted on Facebook or you can call Lorenzo Petty: 413-7241 or Cathy Oliver: 901-8272 or email huffmanhighalumni@gmail.com. The next meeting will be held Saturday, April 17 @ Ruby Tuesday on Roebuck Parkway @ 1:30 pm.

 

Please be aware that this is a HUFFMAN HIGH ALUMNI event! This means any individual that has ever graduated from Huffman High, as well as those that only attended, are invited. This is our 1^st Annual Alumni Picnic and we are now adults with families; we would like this event to be a successful one. Therefore, we are asking that you bring your families out to enjoy yourselves and have a good time. We would like all alumni to be in attendance, however, we understand if some have other engagements due to the Memorial Holiday Weekend. Hopefully, you can join us for any future events that may take place.

 

Although some alumni will bring their own tent and purchase a space. Others have come up with an idea that we feel will bring the most success regarding the tents. Our idea is to gather former classmates and come together to rent one 20x20 tent * (2 spaces). This size tent can seat 30-50 people. However, considering card/game playing tables, food tables, and chairs etc., it will possibly seat 20-30 comfortably. Those in your group of classmates can decide if you want to include a moonwalk, popcorn or cotton candy machine with the rental if you have elementary- age children. Each classmate of your group will be responsible for bringing what they intend on grilling to eat already seasoned and ready to be put on the grill. If you want side dishes, they can be brought by you or decided within your group of classmates.  Make sure your names on what you bring and label the bottom of each dish. Also, everyone must bring their own chairs.

 

This is merely a suggestion to other graduating classmates. As of right now, there are about (5) members within the Class of 94 that are considering this option. If you are interested, please don’t hesitate because you didn’t graduate in 1994. If you are a Huffman High Alumni, then you are welcome to join any class and participate in their group for this event.
