May 18, 1934 - Nov. 21, 2015 Grace and dignity embodied the spirit of our beloved. This daughter of John and Jennie Hardy Shelley graduated Wenonah High School and Wenonah State Technical Schools. She nursed patients during her 30 year tenure at Baptist Medical Center, Princeton. Good stewardship was important to Catherine. She was a Deaconess for many years at New Hope Baptist, West End prior to uniting with Sixth Avenue Baptist. She brought joy to her family and cultivated the essence of love. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles "Coach" McGhee. Precious memories linger with children, Jarvis McGhee and Lisa McGhee Toney; siblings, Dock (Tommistine) Shelley and Ernestine Sturgeon; granddaughters, Roquetta, Kathy and Jennifer. Life Celebration is 11:00 Saturday at Sixth Avenue Baptist, 1101 Martin Luther King Drive, SW Birmingham. Pastor John Cantelow, III, Celebrant. Inhumation follows at Highland.
