James Davis - Class Of 1952

TB Game Quarterback James "Fat" Davis, class of 1952, passed Tuesday, January 26, 2010 in New York. His funeral will be Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 11:30 AM at the Greater Metropolitan Baptist Church, 5856 Wabash Avenue, Chicago, IL 60637, phone (773) 667-6020. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 AM.  

After living in several cities for short periods of time, James settled in New York City in 1959.  He established himself as a businessman in Harlem.  He opened several small retail bisinesses, specializing in the sale of clothing and artifacts imported from the Carribean and East and West Africa.  James also developed the NTU line of personal care productss geared to the African American community.  James also established the African Bag Productions, a company engaged in the production of musical compositions, musical and narrative recordings, and musical concerts.  James' brothers are: Maurice Davis, Class of 1955, Melvin Davis, Class of 1956 and sister Dorothy Davis Lyles.
