John (Jake) Davis passed on January 3, 2008. John was the sixth child of Deacon Richmond Davis and Gertrude Walker.

He served in the Korean War as an Airborne Ranger and was honorably discharged in 1953.

He moved to Chicago in 1954 to commence his work and college career. He married Shirley Perry in 1955. The couple had five children. Cheryl, Paul, Michael, Glenn and Tracy (Deceased.

Siblings include Irma, Gertrude, Booker, Richmond (deceased) Fannell (deceased)Doris, Ophelia, and Michael.

John served in numerous Real Estate positions in Cook County Illinois and Director of Real Estate Management for the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
