COOK, MR. JOHN H. A native of the Paul's Hill Community of Bessemer born to the departed Smalley and Carolyn Bryant Cook. 

John attended Red Ore Elementary School, Wenonah Middle School and graduated from Wenonah High in 1965 and also attended Lawson State Community College.

Christian affiliation was with Woodward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal where he had once been Sunday School Superintendent. The close of life came for this retiree of Diamond Rubber Products on Saturday, June 13, 2009.

Mourners include a loving wife of 38 years, Claudia Davis Cook; daughter, Chandra; son, Rodrick (Sonya); grandchildren, Rodrick, Jr., Rashawn, Viniqua, Vincent, Vintrell and Dominique. Last Rites will be 11:00 Thursday at McCalla Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion, 5466 Sanders Drive, McCalla. Pastor Nathaniel Green, Officiant. Inhumation follows at Pine Hill. Calling Hours at Johnson Memorial, Bessemer, Wednesday Noon until 9:00.
