Brenda Hubbert Matt, Class of 1964, of Midfield, passed away Mon. July 7th . She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, West End. Member of the Ministers Wives Conference. Retired after forty-five years of employment at Social Security Administration and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Survivors are her husband, Reverend Samuel Matt; daughters, Sherrold Matt-Fleming, Stephanie Matt and Laretha Brown; sisters, Queen Nunn, Ruby Long, Delores Jones and Mel Johnson. Brother, Richard Hubbard; grandchildren, Brittany Matt and Brandon Fleming. Funeral service Sat. July 12th at 1:00 PM from New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, East Lake, 7400 – London Ave. South, Birmingham. Burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Viewing Friday 1-7 PM. Omega, Omega service 6:30 PM.
