Jan. 11, 1933 - Apr. 25, 2016 Our mother was devoted to her family and Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Through many years of service, she was faithful with the mission, choir, deaconesses and stewardesses. Ruby had been employed with WalMart. She graduated Wenonah High School in 1964 and was widow of Mr. Edward B. Long, Sr. Cherished memories of life are left with children, Joyce (Erskine) Ford, Shelia (Ronnie) Cook, Debra Delaine, Barbara (Wayne) McCoy, Gerald (Darlene) and Edward Long, Jr.; siblings, Richard Hubbard, Queen Nunn, Delores Jones and Meldoshia Johnson and numerous grandchildren. Homegoing is Noon Saturday at Ward Chapel, 401 24th Street, Bessemer. Pastor Sammie L. Nelms, Officiant. Inhumation follows at Highland. Family Visitation is 5:00 until 7:00 Friday.
