DeRunnya Wilson - Class Of 2013

A homicide investigation is underway in Birmingham after De'Runnya Wilson, a former two-sport star at Wenonah High School who played college football at Mississippi State, was found dead Tuesday afternoon, police announced in a video release.

Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams said a family member found the 25-year-old Wilson unresponsive inside a home in the 2100 block of Northland Avenue.

"Once arriving, our officers discovered information that led them to investigate this as a homicide," Williams said. Watch the video below or here.

In three seasons with the Bulldogs, Wilson racked up 133 receptions for 1,949 yards and 22 touchdowns. He was named second-team All-SEC in 2015.
