The attached document appeared in the Birmingham News in 1970. The article was written about my brother (Carl Pippen) who was recognized for his heroic actions during the Vietnam war. I am sending this article to you with hopes of adding his name to Wenonah's list of persons who have made significant contributions in life. Our Mother also received a letter from President Richard Nixon acknowledging his actions. Carl graduated Wenonah in 1967, and sadly departed this life July 21, 2009.
