Shirley Quinney (Nelson)

Sept. 15, 1951 - Nov. 27, 2016 She was a Woman by God's Grace who embodied loveliness, style and humility. Helping others through mission was her destiny. While in the vineyard of the Lord, Shirley was active as Deaconess and Missionary at Hopewell Baptist and later, Abyssinia Baptist Church. She was Historian of the State Missionary Baptist Convention and worked with the Women's Auxiliary as Vice President. She graduated Wenonah High School and had been employed with Alabama Power. This daughter of the late Walter and Lillie Clemon Quinney leaves beautiful memories with husband, Julius E. Nelson; son, Julius, II; grandson, Xavier; brothers, Gregory, Larry and Walter Quinney. Farewell Ceremony is 11:00 Saturday at Bethel Baptist, 1708 Spencer Avenue, Pratt City. Rev. R.L. Patterson, Officiant. Inhumation follows at Highland. Family Visitation is 5:00 until 7:00 Friday.
