Berry Byrd VIEW PROFILE

Aug. 26, 1953-Jan. 30, 2017 Berry Adolph Byrd was born to the late Julius B. and Carrie E. Byrd in Cairo. He was the youngest of five children, and an identical twin to Jerry R. Byrd (predeceased). A graduate of Wenonah High School and Lawson State Community College, Berry retried from Alabama Power after nearly forty years of service as a Field Service Representative. He gave his life to Christ at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church-Cairo; later uniting with New Pentecostal True Holiness Church of Love after receiving the Holy Ghost and being baptized in Jesus' name. The Church of Love changed to Divine Love Worship Center, and Berry served under District Elder Tommie L. Ratcliffe as a Deacon and friend for thirty years. He is survived by his loving wife and caregiver of 43 years Yolanda Craig Byrd; children, Kesheia (Greg) Floyd and Berry J. Byrd; sisters: Joyce Green, Veronda Garner and Deborah Walker. Funeral is 11:00 Saturday at Greater Mount Zion Temple of Deliverance, 1200 Ford Avenue, Tarrant, 35217. Elder T. Ratcliffe, Officiant. Interment follows at Highland Memorial. Calling Hours at Johnson Memorial, Bessemer, Friday Noon until 9:00.  Obituary
