RAMONA G. SANDERS WALKER, age 47, of Pleasant Grove, AL, died April 27, 2011, at her home. She was born December 31, 1963, in Birmingham, AL, to James "Jake" Sanders and Juanita Sanders. Ramona was a kind hearted giver of self and resources. That character was evident at a very early age. She finished Wenonah High in Birmingham and attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile. Ms. Sanders-Walker worked several years managing ARC of Jefferson County homes and for the last 11 years has been a Contracting Agent for Volunteers of America. She is survived by her son, Darryl J. Walker; friend, David Green; and longtime clients, Antoinette Thompson and Juanita Hines; parents, James and Juanita Sanders, Birmingham; brother, Rodney Sanders, Fairfield, AL. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Fairfield on Thursday, May 5, 2011, 11:00 a.m. with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Kirksey Mortuary, 205-780-1919 directing.
