One man is dead and another jailed after a dispute over basketball.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies and Center Point Fire responded just before 9:30 p.m. Friday to a shooting at Charter East Apartments on 15th Terrace N.E. in Center Point. They arrived at the complex to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim - identified as 53-year-old Herman Williams – was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
